Teaching art is a chance for Don Wesley to bring the delight and discovery that he experiences in his studio practice into the classroom and his lesson plans. He enjoys seeing students realize there is no limit to what is possible, and then witnessing their growth as they express themselves through their own artwork. Don's superpower as a teacher is that he cares to make sure every student has a safe place to learn and grow, and is respected for who they are.

Wesley Studios, where Don works on his fine art, is set up to allow for explorations and growth in multiple mediums; including painting, animation, collage, sculpture, and wearable art. His process starts with wonder, writing and note taking, and if needed, additional research. While Don expresses the natural beauty present in the birds and other natural elements in his work, he also reflects on our own existences through metaphor and simile.
